Sales Management Department

14th year with the company

A coordinator Connecting People and Technology

As someone who wanted to “work with people,” my current job is exactly what I hoped for. When you think of sales, you might picture going around outside or cold calling, but at MICRO we mainly focus on proposing new business development to our client companies. In response to the needs of our customers like “We want to make this kind of product,” my role is to lead the way—leveraging our strong technological capabilities to support them all the way through to commercialization.

Requests from well-known major companies often involve technically challenging details. Yet given that our customers have taken the time to approach us for advice, I strive to respond with sincerity and a sense of responsibility so as not to betray their expectations. After working hard to secure a project, the joy of seeing a product I was involved in actually being released to the world is amazing!

Delving into the World of Glass Processing from a Different Industry

Glass processing was completely unknown to me, who joined as a mid-career hire. I started from zero knowledge, but with encouraging support from the senior colleagues around me, I now enjoy working every day. My job is the final inspection of products before shipment. I carefully check each item based on dozens of inspection points to make sure products have no scratches or dirt. Memorizing all the items was challenging, but above all I tackle the work with a strong sense of determination to never send out a defective product.

I am now also entrusted with personnel and progress management in the inspection process. I strive to carefully monitor work progress so that we can efficiently and reliably meet the planned production volume with fewer people. The sense of fulfillment when my colleagues on our floor cooperate and achieve our goals together is exceptional.

Development Department

Fifth year with the company

Taking on Challenges in Areas that Don't Have a Manual

The factor that made me choose to join the company was how I felt, through interviews and other interactions, that my hard work would be fairly recognized. This is my third year working in the Development Department. There are no set manuals or procedures in the product development process. While there is the difficulty of building things from scratch by myself, I also enjoy the daily excitement of being able to take on a challenge in areas no one has ever tried.

In this job, you are expected to have specialized knowledge of glass processing, as well as a broad range of knowledge about advanced science including semiconductors. It is demanding because you have to keep constantly learning, but that is exactly why this is a workplace where you can truly feel yourself growing.

When you find reliable conditions and processes that can achieve the required product and finally get it into manufacturing, you feel such a sense of fulfillment that you just want to do a fist pump. For those seeking challenges and growth, this is the best field.

Administration Department, Accounting Section

Leveraging my Accounting Experience to Support the Company’s Growth

I also worked in accounting at my previous job, but I joined mid-career because I wanted to apply my experience at a business site soon after it was launched. There is a strong sense of solidarity among employees at MICRO, and when someone encounters a problem, colleagues often lend their wisdom across departmental boundaries. I am grateful to be in an environment where we can enjoy working with a culture of everyone helping out one another.

One of my important duties as an accounting representative is to monitor whether actual results are meeting the target values against the budget prepared in advance. There is a great sense of accomplishment when profits come in as planned. If results fall short of targets, I also take on the role of investigating the causes and identifying areas to make improvements.
There are times when we make tough requests to on-site staff to “reduce costs further.” In such cases, we carefully explain why such measures are needed from a management perspective to ensure their full understanding, and we strive to move the company’s overall business activities forward.
